Within the framework of the Spring Season 2025 of Fonó Club Szeged Korinda20 - Jubilee Concert and Dance House in the IH Café!
The Korinda Orchestra aimed at authentic interpretation of the traditional folk music of the ethnic groups living on the eastern ends of the Hungarian language area. In 2005, Zoltán Kovács, the young leader of the Cuháré Cultural Association, founded the Orchestra from his talented flute students. The foundation of their musical knowledge was mastered in Szeged's folk music life from the members of the Save Otherwise Ensemble, as well as from their Moldavian flute master András Hodorog, which played a decisive role in the creation of the Korinda's individual sound world. Although the main direction for the band is the folk music of Csángó in Moldavia, they also deal with the music of Gyimes, Barcaság and Szekler and Romanian areas. When performing the original recordings and the personal music learned from the informants, they strive for simplicity and clarity, but they also constantly seek the possibility of their own interpretations and individual performances.
